This Thursday, November 24th, families in the United States will sit around their dinner tables to eat one of their biggest meals of the year. As all of the aromas of the turkey feast tantalize all of the senses, a parent or patriarch of a lot of families will stand and ask that question all kids (young and old) moan about because it puts off what they are sitting and waiting for a little longer and for my family, that could be many long minutes -- "What are you thankful for this year?" If you are stumped with that question, take a ride up to Pretty Place this Thanksgiving Day. You will not be leaving this heavenly place without a prayer of thanksgiving! I am so thankful that I can spend many moments here remembering the blessings that are brought to mind overlooking God's creation. HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

GIVING THANKS

I'm giving thanks this month for our amazing Camp Greenville Staff! They have been gifted with love, tenderness, and a diversity of skills that have made our specialty camps a huge success. Pretty Place Stargazers, a camp for families who have children with Down's Syndrome, and Healing Challenge, a camp for those who have lost a loved one and need encouragement in coping, are two of our specialty camps that are taking place this month. I hope you will join us and see for yourself! Effects are felt long after your departure from the mountain.............

Fall Women's Wellness Weekend

As I was sitting at Pretty Place yesterday during lunch, I couldn't help but notice how my mind and body kicked into low gear and everything became right in the world. What a nice place to take some time out during our Women's Wellness Weekend, October 21 thru 23. The fall colors will be at their peak and the breeze will be crisp and cool. Miracle of Love
A drowning kitten rescued from a gutter by a giant of a man turns his heart to tenderness. The deep down giggle of an infant fills his mother's heart to bursting. The bitter sweet feeling in the heart of a father giving his "little girl" to the man of her dreams on her wedding day...all of these make up the heart of love.

God's Wonderful Works

I spent my lunch hour at Pretty Place yesterday. I was not alone. There was a constant stream of people coming to enjoy the fresh crisp breeze, the bright sunshine and the awesome view. Feeling the coolness of the breeze and the warmth of the sunshine it is no wonder so many brides-to-be choose this time of the year to begin this chapter of their journey thru life.

When you visit "Pretty Place" this month, rejoice in the beauty found in nature, pray for our leaders and men and women in uniform, and give thanks for the blessings that God has poured over our nation.
